Tips on Saving Money
I typed saving money into google and received 54,700,000 results. I don’t know about you but I don’t have time to even look at that many links. However one of the one I did click on has an impressive list of ways to save. Some I had heard of before and some I hadn’t. I have the link below, but here are some of my favorites.
Send away for and follow up on rebates. After you buy a product with a rebate, send in the form that day. Then mark your calendar to remind yourself to follow up with the rebate company if the check hasn’t show up. (Don’t f orget to scan all recipts and info into your computer. This doesn’t take long and can help if you gave a dispute with the company. Some companies that do rebates regularly allow you to enter the info online. One company I know of will add seven percent if you get the rebate back on a store gift card.) Request a reduction in the interest rate on your credit cards. As with home equity loans, credit card companies sometimes are willing to reduce the interest rate. It can’t hurt to ask. (you might tell them about one of the offers you have got in the mail recently and are thinking of switching to.)
Get your books from the library. I love books and read every day. While I buy some of the books I read, most come from the library. Simply put, it’s hard to beat free.(I agree. I usually only by books I really enjoyed and will read more than once.)
Get DVDs from the library. Many libraries now have movies on DVD that can be checked out. If your library offers this service, it sure beats paying Blockbuster or Netflix.
There are many more tips that you might find helpful. There are many other articles on this site on money making and management.
